Sports activities, class meet ups, speeches and music took possession of our two Eurocampuses on Monday, January 24 to celebrate with our friends from the DSS the signature of the 1963 Elysee treaty and enjoy the long friendship between our two schools since 1996.
With a program full of encounters and exchanges, the Qingpu and Yangpu teams organiseed a day dedicated to friendship, solidarity, and respect to one another.
On the occasion, the Consul General of France in Shanghai, Benoît Guidée and his German counterpart, Pit Heltmann visited our Qingpu campus on Monday morning for a celebration ceremony, and a Q&A time with the Secondary students of the LFS and the DSS. They replied to several questions asked by students regarding different topics such as the Franco-German relationship in European institutions, the foreign policy towards China, the question of having a European army, the principles of diplomacy between countries, the Chinese power, or even the impact Brexit has had on the European Union.
The Franco-German orchestra of Qingpu wholeheartedly made the piazza lively as well, to the applause of the public!
On Yangpu campus, Monday morning started with a breakfast prepared in a few classrooms in the LFS school building, to allow LFS and DSS students to meet up in a nice and friendly set up. Fun quiz, educational workshops and dodgeball were a big hit with students!
All year long, our Franco-German friendship is celebrated through moments of reunion, common projects, sports events which give rhythm to the life of our campuses and make our Eurocampuses multicultural spaces based on tolerance and cooperation.
