Clément chose to spend the week at Lancôme to gain a better understanding of the cosmetics industry and possible careers. Production, sales, communication, he was able to observe professionals of the sector in their daily activity, from points of sale to headquarters.
We have spent one day with Clément, a student of Grade 11 at Shanghai French School, during this week of observation in a company.Learn more about this day in video.
Diving in the corporate world for one week has one main goal: helping our high schoolers to confirm or not their choice for their future career path. This is the first contact with the business world, which allows students to better understand corporate life.
Every year and just like Clément, Shanghai French School’s 10th Graders benefit from this experience as part of their curriculum and career path. Depending on their interests, they can choose the company in which they want to immerse themselves. In 2020, due to the health context and the fact our campuses were closed in spring, these internships were postponed until 2021, in Grade 11.
In June this year, all our students of Grade 10 from both Qingpu and Yangpu campuses will benefit from this week of observation in companies from various sectors of activity. This week includes:
>Discovering different careers within one same company
>Understanding working conditions
>Incorporating a company’s rules and habits
>Evolving in a team
Each student will then have to present orally an activity report in front of a jury.
A big thank you to all the companies that welcome Shanghai French School students every year, like Lancôme from the L’Oréal group, a dear partner of our school.
