On Monday, December 7, one year to the day after its visit to the Yangpu campus, our school once again welcomed Mr. Laurent Bili, Ambassador of France to China, on our Qingpu campus. He was accompanied by the Consul General of France in Shanghai, Mr.Benoît Guidée, and the University Cooperation Attachée, Mrs. Séverine Boué. This visit was an opportunity to evoke the last back to school and discuss all the issues related to the sanitary crisis and the challenges of tomorrow.
He was welcomed by the President and members of the Board of Directors, the Principal, the Executive Director as well as Heads of School and members of Direction.
A first exchange was aimed at discussing the challenges encountered throughout the past year, the implementation of the Shanghai French School continuity plan in the event of a possible campus closure, as well as the prospects for development of the school which will be presented as part of the next 2021-2021 strategic plan by the Board.
Many strategic topics for our school were addressed: developing access to the French language, internationalizing and adaptating to the various communities of the school, cooperating with our German partners as we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Eurocampus, digital transition accelerated by the Covid crisis, effort of visibility of our school among the varied offer of international schools in Shanghai.
The delegation was then able to discuss with the representatives of parents, students, teachers and administrative staff to have their feedbacks on the e-learning period, but also to discuss issues related to the evolution of the French community in China, before being offered by our students a personalized sports outfits.
The Ambassador praised a united community and a team keeping a strong commitment in a difficult and challenging period. The Covid crisis has demonstrated the strength of a school that has many assets to meet the challenges of tomorrow and to contribute to the French influence in Shanghai.
