Each year, the Shanghai French School offers a series of lectures aimed at high school students to enable them to meet personalities with an interesting experience and insight of China.

This series, entitled ‘Actors and witnesses of contemporary China’, has both objectives of offering our students a better knowledge of their host country through the insight of privileged witnesses, as well as giving opportunity to encourage professional guidance.

Mrs. LU Peng, Doctor of Linguistics and Chinese teacher at Shanghai French School, addressed the topic of “Examination system and visions of education in China” in front of high school students on the Qingpu campus on October 15. She also inaugurated the first lecture dedicated to our high school students on the Yangpu campus on Thursday, October 29.

Mrs. LU Peng allowed our students to know better the historical Chinese specificity of the selection of civil servants through very demanding exams, as well as understanding better the Gaokao system, the national entrance examination to Higher Education.
