Counterfeiting is a global scourge affecting all sectors of industry. Companies are mobilizing daily to fight against counterfeiting. In order to make the students of the Lycée Français de Shanghai aware of this issue, an exhibition and a conference are organized on the Qingpu campus.
On Thursday, October 8, Gérard Winter, former engineer at the National Institute of Intellectual Property (INPI), Advisor for Renault-PSA and Vice-President of the Association of Friends of the Museum of Arts et Métiers, will give a video conference in front of our students of 4ème (Grade 8) in Qingpu, accompanied by the Liaison Officer of the French Consulate in Shanghai.
He will evoke counterfeits in the automobile industry, in watchmaking (watches being the 3rd most counterfeit products behind textiles and shoes) but also the example of the Laguiole knife, that has not been protected by a patent nor a trademark and is victim of numerous copies of poor quality.
This intervention will allow the presentation of two movies: a movie from PSA on the secure label system and a movie on Laguiole knives. This intervention will be completed by the Liaison Officer of the French Consulate in Shanghai, who will provide a reminder of French law on counterfeiting.
In addition, the Shanghai French School offers an exhibition in Piazza de Qingpu devoted to this theme.
